Wella - a brand with a future

The company history starts from Wella in 1880. In the former empire succeeded Franz Stöher the invention of the Tüllmoids that wigs made waterproof and simultaneously improve their grip. The Wella Corporation was founded twelve months later in the USA. But as 1939 began World War II, production was discontinued. After the war, the GDR government nationalized the Wella factory with all its patents.

In 1945, production was resumed and after only a very limited time Wella was back in business and “Wella Junior” once again the best seller of the company. In 1954 “Welonda Salon-equipment" was founded.
